The Job Details are as follows: The Building Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and monitoring of building infrastructure, data centers, and generators. This role ensures the continuous operation and reliability of critical systems, supporting the company's mission to provide uninterrupted service to Libraries.
Key Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance, inspections on UPS systems, data center infrastructure, and generators to ensure optimal performance.Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment such as chillers, boilers, motors, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, and electrical equipment in commercial buildings and data centers.Identify and resolve electrical problems, such as faulty wiring, tripped circuit breakers, or malfunctioning electrical equipment.Monitor and manage the performance and health of power systems, ensuring they meet operational standards.Conduct regular testing of backup systems, including generators, to ensure they function properly during emergencies.Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.Collaborate with other team members and departments to support overall facility operations.Adhere to safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.Participate in on-call rotation for emergency repairs and maintenance as needed.Assist the team with snow removal during inclement weather.Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electrical engineering, HVAC, or related field preferred.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintaining UPS systems, data center support equipment, and generators.Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and HVAC systems.Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving.Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to data center operations and power systems.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
