Senior Network Engineer Location: Limerick

Role Overview: The Senior Network Engineer will join the Operations Infrastructure team, supporting my client's data center operations, both for existing products and new R&D initiatives. This position involves working in a DevOps environment, managing network and firewall operations, and providing architectural design assistance. The team utilizes Terraform for infrastructure coding and collaborates across departments to meet business requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, maintain, and audit a hybrid data center infrastructure. Troubleshoot complex network support issues. Provide technical network support to internal teams. Lead and deliver projects related to business requirements. Manage and secure network devices like firewalls, routers, switches, application gateways, and load balancers. Lead architectural design for cloud connectivity (Azure and AWS). Evaluate new technologies and design solutions for global LAN/WAN architecture. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of experience with enterprise-level networking devices, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting. Expertise in LAN/WAN environments, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, application gateways, and load balancers. Experience with change control processes and methodologies. Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Key Skills: Configuration and troubleshooting of ACLs, route maps, prefix lists, and objects. Experience with F5 Load Balancers (VIPS, POOLS, NODES) and troubleshooting tools (LTM logs, TCP dump, iRule logging). Ability to write and interpret F5 iRules. Experience in data center network equipment installation and cabling. Palo Alto firewall experience is highly advantageous. Ideal Candidate: An experienced network engineer with strong troubleshooting capabilities, cloud architecture knowledge (Azure and AWS), and expertise in advanced network configurations, particularly with F5 Load Balancers and Palo Alto firewalls.
