Senior Occupational Therapist – Mental HealthDublin, IrelandSpecial Purpose, Full timeWho We Are(CHI) is leading on the clinical and operational transformation of acute paediatric healthcare and consists of hospitals at Crumlin, Temple Street and Tallaght as well as an Urgent Care Centre at Connolly hospital in Blanchardstown.
Skills and AttributesCORU registered3 years post qualification experience in a relevant and similar roleExperience in the field of mental healthDescriptionThe post holder will provide a comprehensive Occupational Therapy service to the patients attending the Department of Mental Health in CHI at Temple Street hospital.
The post is within the Mental Health OT Team attached to the Integrated Therapy Support (ITS) Team operating out-patient HSCP supports to children under the care of a hospital consultant and experiencing psychological/mental health issues.
The OT team also supports in-patients under an MDT model including the disciplines of Psychology, Mental Health Social Work, Psychiatry, and Nursing colleagues.
The post holder will provide therapeutic services and liaise closely with the multidisciplinary team of the clinical services that the child is attached to, while working within the team structure.
The OT will link with multiple medical, surgical, and clinical services across CHI and will advocate for the discipline of OT in the design of the future CHI Mental Health model.
The post holder will strive to support the development of the mental health occupational therapy services and be innovative in their approach to develop in-patient and out-patient OT services.
The senior therapist will also work within the Occupational Therapy department as directed by the OT Manager.
Duties will also involve supporting cross cover into acute medical areas as required.
The area of cross cover will be dependent on the skillset of the successful candidate.
Minimum RequirementsBe registered as an Occupational Therapist with CORU with registration number listed on the CV3 years post-qualification clinical Occupational Therapy experienceRecent and satisfactory experience within the field of mental health* Please note that you must submit a cover letter with your CV, this forms part of your application and CVs will not be accepted without a detailed cover letter.
