We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Physiotherapist to join our team in Kilkenny Children's Service. Contract Type: Permanent

Contract Hours: 28 hours per week

Salary Scale: €57,771- €68,385 pro rata per annum.
Salary scales are subject to LSI's (Long Service Increments)

Annual Leave: 33 days pro rata per annum

Overview of the Post: To provide physiotherapy services as part of an interdisciplinary team to meet the identified and emerging needs of children and young people (0 – 18 years) and their families who attend the Children's Disability Network Team within a family centred model.
The aim of this programme is to provide a unified national approach to delivering disability health services so that each child has a clear pathway to the services they need, regardless of where they live, what school they attend or the nature of their disability or delay.

Overview of Duties and Responsibilities: · Provide direct Physiotherapy services to a defined caseload with Children's Disability Network services in Kilkenny, both individually and in groups.

· Work effectively within an interdisciplinary team structure within the PDS framework

· Develop and collate professional reports as required in accordance with high professional standards.
Timely updating of statistical records, including use of electronic databases.

· Be responsible for client assessment, development and implementation of individualised treatment plans that are client centred and in line with best practice.

· Be responsible for standards of professional and clinical practice of self and staff appointed to clinical / designated area(s) in line with the Scope of Practice of Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and national, regional and local Health Service Executive (HSE) guidelines, policies, protocols and with relevant legislation.

· Collaborates skilfully with the service user and other team members while working in partnership with the service user's parent/family/carer to identify goals, including complex situations, within the Individualised Family Service Plan (IFSP) model.

· To consult in family meetings, strategy meetings and case reviews as required.

· To ensure effective maintenance of client records in line with Freedom of Information Act, Data Protection Act, Enable Ireland national and local policy guidelines and best practice, thus ensuring Duty of Care responsibilities are met.

· Work with the policy and procedural guidelines of Lead agency ensuring that you remain up to date with changing policy directives.

· Ensure ongoing personal professional development including participation in Lead agency in-service training / Personal Development Plan and PDS training in agreement with CDNM.

· Evidence of well-developed IT skills including word and use of database systems

· Actively participate in ongoing clinical supervision.

The successful candidate will have: Essential Criteria: · Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU

AND

· Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office

AND

· Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.

AND

· Candidates must have three years full time (or an aggregate of three years full time) post qualification clinical experience.

· On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU

AND

· Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to Enable Ireland

Desirable Criteria: · Previous working in the area of Paediatric/ Physiotherapy Disability

· Have a minimum of 2 year's paediatric experience.

· Previous experience of supervision of basic grade therapists and students.

· Previous experience in the area of FEDs
