Department OverviewInnovation is the oxygen of our company, and in 2023, we invested more than US$850 million in research and development (R&D). We're now opening a new Research & Development Centre in Cork, Ireland focused on designing software for the company's comprehensive land mobile radio (LMR) portfolio, with plans for expansion across other technologies in the future.

We seek a Sr. Product Manager to grow with our team. This position is responsible for the strategy, roadmap, and feature definition for key products in the Astro Devices Software & Services product portfolio; interfacing with product managers, UX designers, engineering teams, marketing and other teams to define and deliver compelling products to the market.
The product manager analyzes market and competitive conditions and lays out a product vision that is differentiated and delivers unique value based on customer demands. The role of the product manager spans many activities from strategic to tactical and provides cross-functional leadership — bridging gaps within the company between different functions, especially between development, sales and marketing, and support.
The product manager is the person responsible for defining the 'why', 'what,' 'where', and 'when' of the product that the development team will build. They are the owner of their product -- which means they lead cross-functional teams from a product's conception through to its launch.
Responsibilities Developing a deep understanding of customer needs through market & customer researchSetting product vision, strategy and roadmapsManaging business priorities based on input from leadership and key stakeholdersDocumenting product requirements, user stories & offer strategyCreating a business case and financial goalsWork with enablement organizations to make products orderable and deliverableSupport go to market activities & facilitate sales and channel trainingManage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule and qualityStrategic partner and third party supplier managementBasic RequirementsDesired Skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are a necessityPolished presentation skills for internal and external audiencesProactive, enthusiastic attitude toward challenging problemsCapable of quickly evaluating and prioritizing new projects alongside customer feedbackStrong ability to take complex user requirements and distill them into a format that can be understood by developers as well as non-technical staff.Ability to research and analyze project requirements from various stakeholdersAbility to understand market trends, financial data, and customer needs and assess competitive intelligence data.Can quickly understand new technical concepts and their impact on the business/marketBuild consensus among stakeholdersAbility to work well independently and as part of a diverse, multi-cultural team spread across multiple continents in a fast-moving environmentAbility to multi-task among various assignmentsAdvanced time management and prioritization skillsSelf-motivated and autonomous.Qualifications: 7+ years progressive, relevant technology experience in engineering or Product Planning/Product Marketing/Product ManagementEducated to degree level in a suitable subject - e.g. Engineering with business/marketing, or product managementExperience with enterprise tools such JIRA, Tableau and ConfluenceBasic Requirements: Fluent in EnglishBachelor's degreeMBA or other graduate degree preferred but not requiredTravel will range from 10-25%Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customers.In return for your expertise, we'll support you in this new challenge with coaching & development every step of the way.
