Senior/ Project Ecologist

Our client is looking to recruit a Senior Project Ecologist who will work as an integral member of their Energy and Planning team within their multiple Irish offices, aiding the expansion of their Energy and Planning business and working closely with their fellow professionals. The position will suit candidates with a minimum of five years of experience. This position offers exposure to a broad range of areas within the renewable energy, circular economy, environment and sustainable infrastructure sectors as our client has a broad spectrum of ongoing projects and can offer the successful candidate a clear path for career development.
ResponsibilitiesManaging individual contracts to deliver high quality ecological consultancy servicesProviding expert ecological input for a range of projectsPlanning, conducting and supervising the execution of site ecological surveys and fieldworkPreparing and monitoring of the implementation of Construction Environmental Management PlansUndertaking Appropriate Assessments and Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), Biodiversity Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) and other environmental reporting requirementsWriting of technical reports and other deliverablesManaging quality including attention to detail and accuracy, delivery of contracts on time and to the highest possible standards, and continue to strive to improve the quality of work produced by the Ecology TeamProviding expert witness at Oral HearingsDeveloping excellent relationships with clients and attending meetings with clients and design teams when necessarySkills / QualificationsA degree in ecology or related subjectA minimum of five years post-graduate experienceConsultancy experience is desirableMember of CIEEM, CIWEM or equivalent professional bodyDetailed knowledge of wildlife and conservation legislation within IrelandExcellent technical report writing skillsExperience in preparing Appropriate Assessments and Ecological Impact AssessmentsExperience in working in multi-disciplinary teamsExcellent communication, organizational, and project management skillsA full clean driver's licenseAn attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate including a competitive salary, shorter working Friday, medical benefit, and professional body support.
