Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist 35 hours per week Permanent Contract Based in Kilcullen, Co. Kildare with some Remote Working The Senior Psychologist will contribute to the delivery and future development of an effective psychology service in line with organisational priorities and department objectives, and always acting within the professional standards, guidelines and policy relevant to this role.
This role will operate as part of a psychology department which is part of a wider clinical supports team.
Duties include: Provide a range of psychological service to adults with intellectual disabilities Hold and effectively manage the psychology department caseload Manage and support the development of the Psychology department Take a lead in implementing Kare's Mental Health Pathway Work intensively with individuals, families and staff teams in driving changes that lead to enhanced positive life outcomes Promote models of positive wellbeing and models of person-centred support and engagement Liaise with the community Mental Health and Intellectual disability team Development and delivery of training initiatives for staff and service users Provide clinical supervision to Staff Grade psychologist/s as required Advocate and promote a Human Rights Based approach and adhere to Safeguarding, Health & Safety Framework and HIQA processes Essential Criteria: Have a university degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) obtained with 1st or 2nd class honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject And Have an Irish post-graduate professional doctorate psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology or an equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health.
And Demonstrate competence in working with adults with Disability And Have at least five years satisfactory post-graduate experience in the area of professional psychology, no more than three years of which was spent in gaining the postgraduate professional qualification and no less than two years full-time spent in post-qualification experience as a professional psychologist.
And Applicants must demonstrate that they have acquired at least 60 days or equivalent supervised clinical placements as part of the professional qualification; or at least 60 days or equivalent post-qualification supervised work experience as a psychologist in a disability setting.
Eligibility to work in Ireland Full Clean Licence - access to own vehicle Experience in research/evaluation, working as part of an MDT and psychometric measurements would be an advantage.

Salary is paid in accordance with the Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist €95,616 - €112,390.
