With an expanding portfolio of exciting projects, they are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in Kilkenny.
About Your New Role as a Senior Civil Engineer:As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of civil engineering projects. Ideally, commercial experience in working on school or hospital projects is also a benefit. You will lead a team of engineers and collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.Design and oversee the construction of infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage systems, and other civil works.Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and risk assessments.Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and support staff.Liaise with clients, contractors, and local authorities to coordinate project activities.Prepare and review engineering reports, specifications, and cost estimates.Ensure that projects are completed in accordance with health and safety guidelines.Oversee the preparation and submission of planning applications and permit approvals.What Skills You Need as a Civil Engineer:Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (Chartered Engineer status or working towards is a plus).Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on infrastructure and construction projects.Preferable experience for a Tier 1 Contractor in Ireland.Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.Proven experience in managing and delivering projects from concept to completion.Proficiency in using engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, etc.).Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage teams and build client relationships.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Full clean driving license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.Experience with environmental and sustainability considerations in civil engineering.Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modelling) and project management software.Experience in managing budgets and client-facing roles.What's on Offer:Work on high-profile and challenging projects in a supportive, collaborative environment.Opportunity for career growth and professional development.Competitive salary with performance-based bonuses and benefits package.Flexible working arrangements.A commitment to employee well-being and a healthy work-life balance.What's Next?To apply for this exciting opportunity, please send your CV and a cover letter outlining your experience and suitability for the role to ******.
