Senior Speech & Language Therapist - Adult Services, Kare Permanent Contract - 17.5 hours per week Location: Kilcullen, Co. Kildare Senior Speech & Language Therapist Salary Scale: €31,019 - €36,524 (pro-rated for 0.5 WTE) The Senior Speech and Language Therapist will work on the Adult Clinical Support Team in Kare, contributing to the delivery and future development of an effective service in line with organisational priorities and department objectives, and always acting within their professional standards, guidelines and policy.
This role will operate as part of a Speech & Language Department which is part of a wider clinical supports team.
This team is made up multiple professionals, and strong working relationships are required in this role.
The Senior Speech and Language Therapist will work in line with current legislation and standards related to service delivery for adults with an Intellectual Disability. Responsibilities: Be responsible for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment / intervention programmes Arrange and carry out assessment and treatment / intervention programmes in appropriate settings in line with local policy / guidelines and professional standards Document all assessment, diagnosis, treatment / intervention plans, clinical notes, relevant contacts and summaries in accordance with department and professional standards Collaborate with service user, family, carers and other staff in goal setting and treatment / intervention planning Participate in mandatory and recommended training programmes Maintain continuing professional development Participate in the review, evaluation and audit of Speech and Language Therapy services Provide clinical supervision as required Requirements: A qualification, recognised by CORU, in Speech and Language Therapy Three (3) years post qualification experience Experience working with children/young people/ adults with disability is essential Be registered with CORU Hold an appropriate and effective set of professional values and beliefs and behave in line with professional standards as set down by KARE and relevant professional bodies Demonstrate sufficient clinical skills in assessment intervention and diagnostics Communicate effectively with children/young people, their families, and the interdisciplinary team to provide a client and family centred service Excellent time management and IT/computer skills Be eligible to work in Ireland Full Clean Licence and access to own vehicle is essential Benefits include: 31 days annual leave Paid Maternity/Paternity Leave (subject to service) Rewarding work with flexible hours Employee Assistance Programme Contributory Pension Plan Optional Salary Protection Plan Personal Development, Professional Growth and Career Progression A detailed Job Description is available on request.
