Your role as a member of the cloud team is to define cloud strategy, governance, and best-practices to aid in the company's adoption of cloud platforms. You will be working closely with engineers within IT as well as across the business to develop solutions and conduct research on new cloud offerings that best align to the needs of the business.
In this role, you will be designing tooling, creating policy, and defining best practices around cloud technologies and services. The role lends itself to a balance between software development, cloud architecture, and project management, as you will be involved in helping to define solutions for a wide variety of teams each with their own distinct use cases. You will need the ability to work seamlessly with both seasoned cloud architects and engineers who are brand new to cloud platforms.
We are a collaborative team that is always learning, sharing, and researching. You must have broad expertise in IT or related fields, strong technical writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to learn and grow in a rapidly evolving environment.
Responsibilities will include: Partner with the business to help plan and implement migrations to cloud platformsDevelop tooling to automate the management of a large cloud ecosystemDesign and deliver well-architected cloud solutions based on business requirementsStrive to innovate and embrace a culture of continuous learningPartner with IT security to define and implement security best practices in the cloudAnalyze cloud spend and recommend cost optimization opportunitiesWhat we would love to see: 5+ years' experience as a systems engineer, developer, or solutions architect2+ years' experience with a programming language (Python is what we use primarily)3+ years' experience with public cloud platforms3+ years' experience creating cloud based architectural designsAWS certifications2+ years' experience with infrastructure as code design (CloudFormation, Terraform, etc)A strong background in cloud networking designExperience building web applications in PythonIAM Principles / Authentication and AuthorizationStrong programming and automating capabilitiesUnderstanding of configuration management concepts and solutionsExperience with database fundamentals and security best practicesWhere you will be working: Cork has a proud reputation as Ireland's second largest economic engine and is now one of the Top 20 location choices in Europe with 39,000 people being employed by over 170 overseas companies.
