About the Role The Senior Tax Associate role is an excellent progression opportunity for experienced tax consultants ready to take on more responsibilities. This position is ideal for individuals looking to step into a leadership role within the team, with the potential to move into management-level positions in the future. You will guide junior associates, support complex client cases, and ensure the delivery of high-quality service to our clients.
In this role, you will manage more complex projects, work with a diverse range of clients, and be instrumental in identifying new opportunities for R&D claims. This role requires a solid understanding of R&D tax legislation, strong client management skills, and the ability to mentor junior team members. As a senior associate, you will be set up for future management-level positions, supported by training and development opportunities to help you grow within the business.
In this Role, You'll Lead client engagements, assessing projects eligible for R&D claims across various industries, such as manufacturing, software development, engineering, and pharmaceuticals. Draft and review complex financial and technical reports for HMRC submissions, ensuring high standards of accuracy and detail. Mentor and guide junior R&D Tax Associates, providing training and support to help them grow in their roles. Collaborate closely with managers and directors to support the firm's strategic goals. Take a proactive role in managing client relationships, acting as the main point of contact for significant accounts. Use tools like Salesforce for efficient project and client management, ensuring all project milestones are met. Continuously improve your knowledge of R&D tax credits, staying up to date with changes in related legislation. Identify and pursue new opportunities for clients to maximise their R&D claims. Contribute to process improvements and share insights to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness. We're Seeking Someone with Experience Including Proven experience in R&D tax consultancy or a related field, with a strong track record of successful claims. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in client-facing roles. Ability to manage multiple projects and clients independently, demonstrating leadership and organisational skills. Strong mentoring abilities, with a passion for helping junior team members grow. IT literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools like Word and Excel. Experience with Salesforce is a plus. In-depth knowledge of R&D tax relief legislation and its practical applications. Comfortable engaging with clients at all levels, representing CBTax with professionalism and confidence. Commitment to delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high standards.
