Senior Water and Climate Technology Researcher Who We Are 20FIFTY Partners is a mission-led organisation that has been driving awareness and action on the water and sustainability agenda for the past twenty years through research and education.
We have worked closely with national agencies and hundreds of businesses in developing and implementing a national roadmap for water stewardship to promote water security within Ireland.
We have a successful track record in leading national and internationally funded research projects in Industrial Water Stewardship, Climate Action and Circularity, delivering industry-based applied research with a focus on practical evidence-based impacts that support national sustainability targets.
Role Overview Building on our recent success in acquiring Horizon Europe, MOSL and EPA research funding, the 20FIFTY Partners Research unit are now looking to add to our growing team by recruiting a Senior Water and Climate Technology Researcher to support the development and delivery of the teams research project portfolio in Industrial Water and Climate Action, lead on aspects of research strategy within the team, and deliver independent and collaborative research aligned with the strategy.
The successful candidate will be familiar with the latest and emerging technologies in industrial water (e.g.
treatment, wastewater / resource recovery and re-use technologies) and climate technologies and solutions (e.g.
emissions reduction technologies, renewable energy, nature-based solutions etc).
In addition, they will be familiar with the adoption and ongoing implementation of these technologies within large industry.
They should also have a demonstrated history of authoring peer-reviewed research publications.
Main Responsibilities To lead on and contribute to key national and internationally funded research projects in industrial water and climate technologies.
To identify key and innovative research themes relating to the Research & Communities Units core strategic interests.
To represent the organisation in our national and international working groups and networks.
Conduct horizon scanning on research opportunities and engagement opportunities with existing and emerging research consortiums.
Actively develop appropriate external contacts and networks relevant to future collaboration and funding opportunities including with academic institutions and research bodies.
To produce high-quality research reports and/or publications as required by the funding body.
To lead out on research dissemination activities as identified.
Support in development of robust systems, processes, and tools for Research management.
To independently undertake advanced research in the relevant discipline area using, or developing, the appropriate methods and/or techniques and managing other contributions to the project.
To supervise the work of colleagues, partners, consultants, and other collaborators as appropriate.
To lead relevant meetings associated with the research project or related activities.
To take responsibility for resolving problems affecting the delivery of research projects.
To support the planning and implementing of future research projects.
To lead and / or support bids for major research projects.
To undertake other duties relevant to the programme of research as required.

Key Qualifications and Skills A Masters degree / PhD in industrial water, energy / emissions or related engineering field >7 years experience working in industry >3 years experience in a research environment Experience in leading teams in technical project delivery Horizon Europe project experience desirable Skills: Research Research Projects leadership skills.
