Vickerstock are working in partnership with a contracting solutions firm on the appointment of an SHEQ Manager.As a SHEQ Manager, you will be the internal point of contact for line managers and site supervisors in relation to health and safety policies and procedures and relevant health and safety legislation.In your new role:Ongoing revision and enforcement of health and safety policies to foster a strong safety culture within the companyPrimary point of contact for clients regarding Health and Safety mattersDevelopment and distribution of risk assessments and method statements to ensure workplace safetyPrompt and professional investigation of accidents and incidents, adhering to specific contractual deadlinesImplement appropriate preventive measures and actions based on risk assessments, and accident and incident investigationsDesign, organise, and lead Health and Safety training sessions for employeesPerform fire risk assessments and coordinate emergency evacuation trainingConduct and oversee safety audits throughout the organisationEnsure comprehensive vehicle and road safety in collaboration with the Fleet ManagerEnsure full compliance with tools and PPE regulationsPrepare and distribute toolbox talksComplete internal and client SHEQ reporting on a daily, weekly, and monthly basisDesign and deliver detailed and engaging Health and Safety Induction programmesContinuously monitor, manage, and ensure compliance with employee training requirementsProvide coaching and mentoring to front-line team members as neededReport and investigate accidents to HSENI and HSADrive continuous improvement and attainment of Health and Safety accreditations for the companyWhat you will need to succeed:5 years' experience in a senior SHEQ roleThird level education in Health and Safety related disciplineNEBOSH/IOSH qualificationPrevious experience in the Utilities/Infrastructure/Building Services industriesExperience with investigations, audits, inspections, compiling reports and making recommendations as appropriateHigh level of communication skills, including written, oral and presentation skillsConfident in maintaining composure and managing with difficult situationsExcellent IT skills (MS Office)Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):Previous electrical experience or Health and Safety experience working within the electrical industryTrain the Trainer certificationFirst Aid trainingFor a confidential conversation on how Vickerstock can help support you with your next move, get in touch with Sam Geddis, our Health and Safety Specialist today.
