Job purpose Our Technical team are at the heart of our business.
They are responsible for ensuring we produce high quality and safe products for our Customers and Consumers while complying with all Legislative and Regulatory requirements for Food Processing.
They aim to maintain our Quality Assurance Culture and Health and Safety Culture with all staff of O'Brien Fine Foods which is continually reviewed for effectiveness and improvement, the key objective is to have all staff empowered and taking ownership for Quality and Health and Safety.
They lead all stages of product development and delivery including idea, creative development, consumer testing, customer approval and execution.
As a Quality Officer within the Technical team, you are responsible for working closely with the Quality Assurance Manager and Quality team in maintaining and refining the company's QA system.
The shift will be a 4 on 4 off basis covering the 7 day period.
The shift times are 6.00 am to 6.30pm 4 days on 4 off includes weekend and public holiday work.
Duties and responsibilities Learn and understand our raw material specification for all pork, beef and white meat supplied to our site.
Learn and understand our key processes on the production floor with the ability to identify opportunities for improvements.
Completion of quality checks throughout production with ability to be able to address issues with operatives on the production floor.
Conduct traceability audits, raising issues and closing out with team on the production floor.
Completion of SOPs by watching what is happening on the production floor and update current SOPs to reflect what 'good looks like'.
Support the Quality team with ongoing Technical projects.
General administrative tasks as required.
Assist with preparation of reports as required.
Support the Quality Team with all aspects of product quality, safety, and legality from the supplier base to the customer.
Communicate effectively to build and maintain good working relationship with internal contacts, e.g., production, engineering, cleaning, process, NPD etc.
Learn about 'Lean' with the completion of a 'Just Do it Project'.
To participate in quality audits using learnings from training carried out on the production floor.
Cover for quality team members as required.
Expectations, Qualifications Candidates must speak fluent English.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills Knowledge and technical understanding of Quality and Food Safety (HACCP) Be able to perform well under pressure.
Accurate and fine attention to detail essential Candidate will need their own transport as this role is primarily based in Timahoe, Co. Kildare.
