R&D Engineer Full Time- Galway We have an exciting opportunity for a R&D engineer to join our team located in Parkmore, Galway, Ireland.

We provide solutions to reduce thromboembolic complications, while promoting Cell Proliferation & Healing in the case of implant devices.
The company offers a wide range of services from early coating selection to manufacturing process transfer, while supporting regulatory approval & commercialisation.
Job Summary The company is actively seeking an R&D engineer to assist with the development of biomaterials.
This is an exciting role with a mix of hands-on laboratory work, project engineering and quality system development for our R&D laboratory.
We are looking for someone who will be happy to take on varied project roles within a start-up organization.
Key Responsibilities will include: Develop device and new material concepts within the project team.
Create, monitor and oversee procedures and practices in the R&D laboratory to ensure coating and material application processes meet quality requirements.
Develop, build and test models for prototype performance evaluations.
Build and test prototypes; analyse test data and interpret to identify optimal solutions to technical challenges.
Create detailed component and finished device assembly drawings/specifications using SolidWorks.
Identify and select product materials, assembly methods and define process settings.
Contribute to the project team to deliver key objectives, meeting performance, time and cost targets.
Leverage and liaise with external vendors / resources to achieve project goals.
Write procedures, protocols, specifications, and reports.
Understand physician (user) techniques and clinical needs (disease state) and assist in developing product training materials.
Other duties as assigned or required.
Lead project elements & activities (scope, schedule, communications, finance, risk, procurement and stakeholder management).
Update roadmaps, dashboards and trackers to communicate project status.
Foster strong collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience: Degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering or equivalent.
Design experience with SolidWorks, prototyping, testing.
Data review and statistical methods skills (Minitab).
High level of technical writing and presentation skills.
Strong work ethic, creative problem solving, capable of working on own initiative Location and Travel This position may involve working in a laboratory environment with exposure to chemicals and biological agents.
Occasional travel may be required for conferences, collaboration, or fieldwork.
Flexible work hours may be needed to meet project deadlines or accommodate time-sensitive experiments.
