Closing Date: January 24 th , 2025 Job Brief The successful applicant will be required to deliver on the vision for individuals they are supporting.
You will work directly to support them gain valued social roles in their lives and participate in meaningful creative activities through developing appropriate supports.
You will also advocate on behalf of the individual with regard to their individual needs and preferences and support the development of an Individual Plan.
Candidate Requirements Ensuring a person-centred approach to service delivery based on the priorities for each individual Experience supporting individuals with high medical needs and behaviours of concern is required Ensuring each person supported receives a high quality, safe service, based on each person's assessed needs An understanding and appreciation of equality and life quality for all people Developing and building relationships with services users, families, advocates and the wider community Knowledge of New Directions Experience working in a person and family centered manner A genuine interest and enthusiasm to stay true to the ethos of the services An understanding and appreciation of equality and life quality for all people Ability to problem-solve and be creative around service responses Flexibility will be required from time to time to respond to individuals needs Other duties involved - (duties included but are not limited to the following) Contribute to and participate in the local service planning process and the creative development and ongoing changing needs of the service Provide personal care and support to service users where required Ensure a safe place of work, incorporating Western Care Association's Dignity at Work Policy and Health & Safety requirement To promote safety in all environments, in line with the Association's practices Use positive approaches to support people who may have challenging behaviour in line with Organisational practice Qualification Details No minimum level required for Social Care Assistant positions Other Requirements Full driver's license is essential All applicants will be subject to Irish Garda Vetting & Reference checks All applicants from Countries outside the E.U.
