A vacancy now exists for a Social Care Leader- Person in Charge - Full Time permanent contract (37-hour week).
Solas is a day services providing supports and activities to adults with complex needs arising from a combination of intellectual, autism, physical and/or sensory disabilities.
Solas supports 13 attendees; some are supported in groups whereas other individuals have individualised staffing arrangements.
Solas is a person-centred service guided and supported by the standards of New Directions and through individual Cosan programmes and QQI courses.
The service aims to meet the needs of each individual service user promoting independence and quality of life.
The day service team are comprised of different skill mix reflecting the needs of the persons using the service.
The team includes Social care workers and Direct Support workers and is supported by an MDT and SMH operational management.
Essential Criteria for SCL applicants: Have at least 5 years' experience working in the area of intellectual disability within a community setting. Have experience and understanding of New Directions. Have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a management role in the area of health or social care. Experience of managing a staff team and developing the team to ensure that they have the necessary skills and motivation to deliver to the highest of standards. Have a strong commitment to the empowerment of the service users and their families. Excellent facilitation, leadership and communication skills. Excellent report writing. Highly organised, motivated, flexible and ability to problem solve. Must have skills in roster management. Must be able to manage budgets. Applicants must have one of the following qualifications: QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Arts in Applied Social Studies (Disability) - Open Training College; Level 7 award in Social Care/Studies delivered by an Institute of Technology, DIT or National University of Ireland; On the CORU list of "approved degrees for Section 38 organisations" or "sufficiently relevant qualifications"; And
A relevant health or social care management qualification. Desirable Criteria: Must have a full, clean driver license and willing to drive as part of duties. Experience in the management and delivery of high-quality Autism specific services. Must have experience in the management and delivery of vocational, recreational and educational interventions for people that they have provided services for. Salary Scale: Successful candidate will be paid in line with October 2024 HSE revised consolidated Social Care Leader pay scales point 1: €54,699.00 – point 7: €63,877.00 per annum based on working a 39-hour week. New appointees to any grade start at the minimum point of the scale.
Incremental credit will be applied for recognised relevant service in Ireland and abroad (Department of Health Circular 2/2011).
Incremental credit is normally granted on appointment, in respect of previous experience in the Civil Service, Local Authorities, Health Service and other Public Service Bodies and Statutory Agencies.
