BROTHERS OF CHARITY SERVICES IRELAND – WEST REGION POST: PERMANENT FULL TIME SOCIAL CARE MANAGER (CNM2/SCM 2 GRADE) SKYLARK SERVICES, ATHENRY, CO. GALWAY JOB REF: 74413 The Role: The role of the Social Care Manager post is pivotal in supporting the coordination and management of a day service in a new location in Skylark Services in Athenry, Co. Galway.
The main responsibilities are to support resource-management and staffing - including rosters, staff development, facilitating communication and professional leadership in order to ensure a good quality of life for the people attending this Residential service.
Experience in providing supports to individuals with complex medical and physical support needs is desirable.
Reporting To/ Responsible To: Area Manager/Service Coordinator.
Qualifications: The recognised professional qualification for social care is as follows:
•HETAC/NQAI BA (HONS) in Applied Social Studies (Disability)/Social Care.
•A current Live Register Certificate from An Bord Altranais is essential; RNID/RGN/RMHN qualification is desirable.
•A full clean manual Driving Licence, which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles.
It is essential for the appointee to drive the transport that is assigned to the Service.
•A management qualification is also desirable or a commitment to obtain one.
Experience: The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years' experience of working with people with an intellectual disability.
Experience of working in a person-centred service with people with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviour is essential.
Experience in community networking and including individuals in their local community is essential.
Skills: Candidates should be able to demonstrate leadership, communication and team working skills.
The successful candidate will be a flexible and dynamic individual who will relate to people in a range of situations together with an understanding of and commitment to the principles of public accountability as they apply in the health service.
A full clean manual Driving Licence, which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish Roads and use of your own car is an essential requirement.
Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post.
Working Hours: 39 or 37.5 hours per week based on a 7 day duty roster.
Contracted hours of work are liable to change over seven days to meet the requirements of the service.
The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.
Annual Leave: Annual Leave will be assigned as attached to each grade.
Appropriate service related leave will be granted after 5 and 10 years' service respectively.
Remuneration: Department of Health CNM2 or Social Care Manager 2 salary scale per annum, depending on the
successful candidate HSE Consolidated salary scale 1st October 2024.

Additional payments will be made for weekends, public holidays and sleep-in when worked.
Probation: A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post.
The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment.
The probation period may be extended at the Employer's discretion.
Tenure: This position is permanent, full-time and pensionable.
