Our core company values: Communication | Privacy, Respect & Dignity| Choice | Independence | Individuality | Rights | Community Partnership Job Profile: The role of Social Care Manager is to develop and lead an innovative and varied social and recreational program to improve residents' quality of living and social experience in Bridhaven Nursing Home  The Social Care Manager is a key player within the multidisciplinary team, ensuring the necessary supports are put in place for each resident to maximize their independence for as long as is safely possible.  Key Objectives   Social     To lead and develop a social programme for all the residents.  To ensure the scheduling of social sessions provides maximum benefit to both the resident and the care team  To encourage resident to join in meaningful activities whilst maintaining their independence, choice and dignity, to enable them to lead as full and active life as possible  To consult with each resident in order to identify their social and recreational requirements according to their likes/dislikes, abilities and personal preferences.  To produce a monthly programme of activities and social events and ensure it is communicated to all residents.  To regularly assess the effectiveness of the social events and activities programme.  To work as a key member of the multidisciplinary team in order to feedback on each resident's status/participation at regular care plan reviews  To establish and maintain relationships with residents that are based on respect and equality and that promote their independence.  Administration     To familiarise and connect with all key community groups whose expertise would make a valuable contribution to the service.  To manage and schedule care staff within the centre, including induction, ongoing training and day to day supervision  To recruit a network of volunteers to provide a variety of desired appropriate social opportunities as identified  To support volunteers in their role and ensure they receive appropriate induction, training, supervision and support.  Essential skills, competencies, and/or knowledge   Be Person Centered:   Self: Be comfortable being oneself at work, be self aware and open.   Feeling: Be able to be emotionally warm, offering closeness to each individual.  Together: Be a friend to individual's, with no "them and us"  Inspiring: Be positive and passionate, be able to make a connection with people that makes a difference.  Nurturing: Be able to provide comfort, security and a sense of belonging.  Respectful: Be able to understand the value of life histories and use it to enhance individual well-being.  Accepting: Be positive about individual's reality and accepting of others, to understand that feelings can be displayed as actions or words.   Flexible: Be focused on individuals and not routine, have the ability to adapt to daily differences and just "go with the flow".  Spontaneous: Create opportunities that will occupy individuals in a meaningful way.  Enabling: Be able to create well-being and not ill-being  Supportive : Be comfortable expressing your own emotions and support others with theirs  Growing : Be open to learn and reflect on oneself and skills.    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:     Code of Conduct   Ensure adherence to our code of conduct and consistently demonstrate and promote behaviour and actions reflective of our values.  Confidentiality   You will be aware of the confidential nature of Bridhaven's work and in particular, the right of residents to confidentiality.     Presentation   Bridhaven aspires to the highest standards in how the entities owned by Virtue are presented to ensure an environment which is safe, homely and personalized for the residents we support.     Policies & Procedures   You are required to familiarise yourself with and adhere to all policy and procedural documents relevant to your position.    Hygiene Standards    The highest standard of hygiene must always be maintained, and all staff members are responsible for ensuring compliance with Virtue's requirements and standards with regard to hygiene.
It is the responsibility of all staff to have a fundamental understanding of their individual responsibility in maintaining departmental & site hygiene standards    Health and Safety   Ensure that effective safety procedures are in place to comply not only with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 but also within the spirit of our mission, vision and values, and they are known and followed by staff.     Information Technology   To use our IT equipment, systems, software, hardware, intellectual property etc.
in a manner that is at all times consistent with the   Ensure the most effective and efficient use of developments in information technology for administrative support in a manner, which integrates well with systems throughout the organization.    The successful candidate must hold the following qualifications and experience to fulfill the requirements of this role: Essential   Degree in Social Care or relevant field Previous experience working with the older person an advantage  Highly efficient and organised  Excellent interpersonal skills    Why work for us?
