SOCIAL CARE WORKER – LIMERICK CITY PART TIME 27/78 This is a part-time role with a rolling roster as follows
- Week 1: Monday 16:30 start, sleepover 23.00 – 07.00, off duty 09.30am
Tuesday 16:30 start, sleepover 23.00 – 07.00, off duty 09.30am
- Week 2: Friday 16:30 start, sleepover 23.00 – 09.00, off duty 11.30am
These are the core hours associated with this role.
There will be opportunities to work above the stated hours in a relief capacity if so wished by the successful candidate.
Please note that while this is the foreseeable roster for this role at this time, like all funded posts this could be subject to some change with notice if the service needs change in the future.

The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland, Limerick Region, provides residential, educational and day services for people with intellectual disabilities, autism and communication disorders throughout Limerick City and County.
The Role of a Social Care Worker Social Care Workers fulfil a key worker supportive and advocative role for individuals supported by the service.
The Social Care Worker role is to support the person in all aspects of their life focusing on the individual's ability and promoting independence and development of skills at all times.
You will assist in all aspects of the practical tasks associated with the daily life of the person supported.
The Social Care Worker will assist and support people who use the service with development of their individual person centred plans and the achievement of associated outcomes, and critically, will support people who use the service to make informed choices and fulfil their potential.
They will encourage participation in the community through inclusive and creative thinking, seek opportunities for new experiences and encourage positive risk taking in leading to informed choices.

Qualifications:
Hold a recognised qualification and have eligibility to register as a Social Care Worker according to CORU registration requirements.
Essential: Hold a full clean manual drivers licence
Desirable 12 months experience in a relevant setting

We provide a 24 hour 7 day a week service for people with an intellectual disability and this is reflected in our shift patterns.
Premium Payments apply to shift working with hourly rate paid for sleepovers.
