Fostering First Ireland are recruiting the following position:
Social Care Worker – (Permanent Full Time) Home based Salary commensurate with experience (Social Care Worker scale), private health insurance, private pension contribution, generous Annual Leave entitlement. You are required to live in the following geographical area to allow easy access to the case load: Galway, Mayo or Roscommon Fostering First Ireland is a leading national independent fostering agency that is part of the international Key Assets Group. We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, self-motivated Social Care Worker who can both work independently and collaboratively within an organisation committed to best practice. Responsibilities: To provide support to children and young people placed with FFI foster carers.To provide support to the birth children of FFI foster carers.To promote children and young people's participation within FFI.To contribute to the development of children's services through the provision of training/workshops in response to the identified needs of service users.To work collaboratively with the wider FFI team and external stakeholdersKnowledge and experience:
A CORU approved qualification in Social Care (minimum Level 7)A minimum of 3 year's experience of working directly with children/young people in the care system or other related field.Knowledge of theoretical frameworks underpinning work with children and adolescents.A sound knowledge of child protection procedures and the requirements of the Children First Act 2015.Personal Attributes & Requirements You will be a self-starter, comfortable with taking initiative and a creative problem solverFlexibility and adaptabilityAbility to work on own initiative and in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team Committed to best practice and be innovative and open to changeYou must have a full, clean driving licenceYou must have good organisational, IT and paperwork management skillsThis role requires flexibility regarding working hours including regular evening and occasional weekend working and extensive travel.Please visit our website Careers with FFI for an application form and full job description.
