Our client, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), is seeking a Social Media & Communications Executive.
Division Overview Our Communications Division promotes public awareness and understanding of the role of the CCPC. We empower consumers with information and education on consumer rights, personal finance, competition law, and product safety. Our tools include our website, helpline, social media accounts, marketing campaigns, public relations, stakeholder engagement, and education programmes. We also engage with the business community and other stakeholders through our information, advocacy, and compliance activities.
Our Communications Division has a three-pillar structure with each pillar led by a Deputy Director at Assistant Principal Higher grade.
The three pillars are:
Pillar 1: Media Relations, Marketing and Stakeholder EngagementPillar 2: Consumer Information and Engagement, which includes our website and helpline unitsPillar 3: Financial EducationThe Successful Candidate: The Social Media and Communications Executive will work in the Corporate Communications Unit, reporting to the Consumer Media Manager. The Corporate Communications Unit is responsible for communicating the work of the CCPC to the public and other stakeholders through media releases, publications, PR campaigns, social media, and stakeholder engagement.
The Social Media & Communications Executive will work collaboratively to develop and operationalise the CCPC's social media strategy, creating engaging, innovative, and relevant content across the CCPC's social media platforms, in line with the CCPC's brand guidelines.
The role will also involve providing communications and administrative support across all functions of the Corporate Communications team, including consumer and corporate media communications. The role will suit a creative individual with superior communications skills, providing an exciting opportunity for hands-on experience in a busy and dynamic communications function.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in the strategic delivery of the organisation's consumer media and communications.Manage the CCPC's social media accounts to provide a regular flow of unique and creative content that is designed to maximise engagement and performance and grow and expand our online presence.Develop and deliver creative and innovative social media content, including infographics, videos, imagery, and blog content for use across Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.Monitor and measure the performance of CCPC social media activity and engagement, producing regular metrics and analytics reports.Monitor social media and online forums to identify emerging trends and potential issues, and research and monitor activity of company competitors.Draft communications material, including online content for ccpc.ie, features, and other ad hoc requests and provide administrative support to the wider Corporate Communications team.Support the Consumer Media Manager to manage the administration of the consumer PR & social media budget.Provide training and guidance on social media implementation best practices and strategies.Proactively engage with teams across the Comms Division and wider business to source new, relevant, and interesting content for publication.Support the Internal Communications function, facilitating collaboration, engagement, feedback, and recognition among employees.Essential: A third level qualification in a relevant discipline and one year's experience in a fast-paced office environment, preferably with a focus on communications.ORA minimum of 2 years' experience in a fast-paced office environment, preferably with a focus on communications.Excellent writing skills and experience of producing and drafting content.Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines.Excellent interpersonal skills.Experience of MS Office applications (i.e. Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).Desirable: Experience in creating videos and customising brand assets for social media content.Experience of Canva and creating visuals for online or print using photos, designs, and audio.A strong interest in or experience of public affairs.Experience working with, or an interest in, public service.Knowledge of consumer affairs.Experience managing diaries, schedules, and budgets.Application Process: In order to apply for this opportunity, candidates must submit the application form for this opportunity before the closing date for applications.
