The Child and Family Agency was established on 1st January 2014 and is responsible for a range of statutory functions including provision of child protection, alternative care, specified regulatory services and a range of family support services.
The Agency has commenced a major improvement programme with significant focus on Practice, Culture and Structure, they currently has responsibility for a budget in excess of €800m and delivers its services through circa 5,000 people in 350 locations across the Country.
The Child and Family Agency has responsibility for the following range of services: Child Protection and Welfare Family Support Alternative Care Adoption Domestic Sexual and Gender Based Violence (DSGBV) Childrens Service Regulation Counselling and Therapeutic Support As a Social Worker in the Dedicated Contact Point Team, you will be responsible for handling referrals, assessing needs, and providing early interventions to individuals and families in crisis.
You will work closely with other professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to delivering services.
This role is essential in offering immediate support, signposting, and referrals to community resources and specialized services.
Key Responsibilities of the Professionally Qualified Social Worker Act as the first point of contact for individuals and families reaching out for social care support.
Conduct initial assessments, triage cases, and ensure appropriate follow-up actions.
Provide information, advice, and emotional support to clients in crisis situations.
Work in collaboration with other social workers, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to deliver effective care plans.
Maintain accurate and timely case notes and ensure confidentiality in all interactions.
Participate in case conferences and team meetings to discuss complex cases and share expertise.
Keep up to date with best practices, legislation, and guidelines in the field of social work.
Promote and advocate for the rights of vulnerable individuals and ensure they receive appropriate services.
Requirements: A degree in Social Workor equivalent qualification.
Registered with CORU(Health and Social Care Professionals Council) as a Social Worker.
Previous experience in a front-line social work role, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and manage a diverse caseload.
A passion for helping vulnerable individuals and advocating for their needs.
Understanding of the Irish social care system, including relevant legislation and community resources.
Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and using case management systems.
