The Java Platform group is looking for passionate and highly-motivated software engineers to join our world-class development engineering effort. Our team is responsible for delivering all aspects of the core Java platform that is used by millions of developers and serves as the foundational component for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle Cloud Applications.
ResponsibilitiesAs a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with developing, debugging, or designing software applications or operating systems. You will specify, design, and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs. Duties and tasks are varied and complex, requiring independent judgment.
Skills & ExperienceB.S. or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent degree3+ years of industry experienceExperience with API design, code development, and debugging in multi-platform environments is a plusStrong background in networkingExperience scaling networking-based applications is a plusStrong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, performance tuning, threading, and concurrencyStrong focus on quality, including developing thorough tests for new or changed codeHands-on experience in distributed computing, concurrency programming, and performance enhancements in a server environmentFamiliarity with Java and scripting languages (shell, python, perl, etc.)Familiarity with test automation tools and practices (unit and system level automation)Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks, etc.
