Software Development Engineer, Finance AutomationInterested in building the next generation Financial Systems that can handle billions of dollars in transactions? Massive data volume combined with complex business rules in a highly distributed and service-oriented architecture presents a world-class information collection and delivery challenge. Our goal is to deliver software systems that accurately capture, process, and report on the huge volume of financial transactions generated each day as millions of customers make purchases, thousands of Vendors and Partners are paid, inventory moves in and out of warehouses, commissions are calculated, and taxes are collected in hundreds of jurisdictions worldwide.
The ideal candidate will possess exemplary analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, along with deep software development experience. A passion for creating maintainable, highly reliable, and scalable user-facing applications accessed by thousands of external Vendors and internal Customers is essential. Successful team members collaborate effectively with internal customers and other dependent development teams at Amazon to develop new applications against high operational standards of system availability and reliability. In the space of workflow management tools, engineers on this team solve problems for the first time and have the opportunity to convert them into generic/reusable components for use in the broader engineering community. We seek engineers who are excellent communicators, self-motivated, flexible, hardworking, and who enjoy their work.

The Finance Automation team is looking for a talented software development engineer who can tackle large complex projects.
Key Job ResponsibilitiesWork collaboratively to shape the vision and strategy for solving business problems across retail and other cross-systems.Develop an architecture with a long-term vision for future needs.Mentor and grow team members while ensuring quality delivery.Deep dive into developing and delivering highly maintainable systems. Act as a technical leader for the team with the ability to deliver against all odds.Employ a data-driven approach for making architecture decisions and managing business priorities.A Day in the LifeAs a software development engineer on this team, you will play a pivotal role in:
Working with the team and stakeholders to drive business decisions.Designing, implementing, testing, deploying, and maintaining innovative software solutions to optimize service, cost, and security.Utilizing software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all team deliverables.Writing high-quality distributed system software.Working in an agile, startup-like development environment, focusing on the most important tasks.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.Experience programming with at least one software programming language.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.Posted: October 30, 2024 (Updated 22 minutes ago)
