Key Job Responsibilities
The Senior Software Development Engineer in the A to Z team holds a crucial role in leading the design, implementation, and delivery of software solutions in complex and ambiguous environments. As an engineering leader, the SDE will:
Provide guidance and direction to engineers within the A to Z team, while working independently to influence their work.Be responsible for producing software designs and implementing solutions that will serve as a model for other engineers.Work to continuously improve and evolve A to Z's software offerings, ensuring that the team remains at the forefront of software development, demonstrating their ability to influence, positively impacting the technical decisions made.Think in terms of architecture and not just code, balancing combining services to break down large problems into manageable domains, and the Operational Excellence (OE) required to maintain large distributed systems across teams.Influence their team's technical and business strategy, advising and leading their manager and product partners to scope and define the roadmap for the team and organization. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
