Key job responsibilities
We are seeking a seasoned engineering manager with experience in Internet-scale distributed systems and a focus on customers, engineering, and operational excellence.
You will lead and grow an engineering team that is responsible for design, development, and operations.
You are a leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and who has a track record of building good teams that deliver results.
We are looking for a hands-on leader with expertise and passion in solving hard engineering problems.
You will be in charge of the complete software development life-cycle; defining, prioritizing, designing, building, and testing new features.
You will get the opportunity to work closely with a great team of software developers.
You will understand what it takes to grow and operate Amazon business at our scale.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
- Experience in engineering team management.
- Experience in engineering.
- Experience in leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
- Experience partnering with product and program management teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers.
