Software Development Manager, Network Availability EngineeringAmazon operates one of the largest and most complex networks in the world. We build and operate the network that underpins our customers' businesses and aim to provide a network that is indistinguishable from perfect.
Network Availability Engineering (NAE) provides network operators with software tools and services to monitor the network, alarm and automatically mitigate and remediate multiple events per day. NAE's mission is to maximize network availability reducing network impact through automation. Our team is a mixture of Software Development Engineers, System Development Engineers, UX Designers, Research Scientists, and Software Development Managers working together to build the best products for our customers.
You'll work closely with partner and customer teams within the broader Amazon organization. This is an opportunity to join a high-impact team with enormous potential for growth. You will own the design, development, testing, and deployment of your systems and services. You will draw from a breadth and depth of technical expertise to mentor engineers, complete hands-on technical work, and provide leadership on complex technical issues.
As a Software Development Manager in Amazon, you will be part of the larger technical leadership community that plays a critical role in business planning, works closely with senior executives, influences our long-term technical and business strategy, helps us hire talented people, and ultimately enables us to deliver for our customers.
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we're looking for talented people who want to help.
You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
