The Network Impact Reduction organization builds complex software solutions that ensure the AWS work is always available and performant so AWS customers can grow at the speed of business. Our software innovations provide continuous monitoring, management, visualization, auto-remediation, and incident management services for the millions of devices that compose the AWS Network.
The AWS Network Impact Reduction team is looking for a technically-skilled Software Development Manager to join our team. In this role you will lead a team of talented software engineers responsible for enabling our customers (Network Operations) to automate their operations to reduce manual effort on the mitigation and remediation of network incidents.
Key Job ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for coordinating the design and implementation of large projects across multiple teams and organizations, writing technical specifications, driving project schedules from design to release, and managing the production launch of major features.
The right candidate will possess a strong technical leadership background, and will have demonstrated experience leading medium to large scale projects. You must have practical experience designing, coding, and launching critical business software using modern programming paradigms. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in, and get the job done.
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. BASIC QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operationsExperience in engineering team managementExperience in engineeringExperience in leading the definition and development of multi-tier web servicesExperience partnering with product and program management teamsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategyExperience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineersAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
