Job Description The Software Quality Lead will report to the Sr.
Manager of Software Quality within the Supply Chain function and will support Motorola LMR Products and Services.
This individual will be a "change agent" and will integrate quality checks throughout the development cycle of software tools and applications.
This individual will be ensuring the development team integrates quality checks throughout the product development process.
This role will also be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of processes and procedures used for improving the efficiency of quality assurance.Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Develop and implement quality metrics to monitor and improve software qualityAnalyze data and metrics to identify trends, issues and areas of improvementCollaborate with development teams to ensure adherence to quality standards and industry best practicesUtilize quality tools and methodologies, such as DMAIC to drive continuous improvement initiativesConduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for identified defectsDocument and report quality assurance activities and findingsAssessing the product team's performance, capability, process gaps, and improvements areas Develop, establish, and enforce quality assurance standards and measures within the organization, with an emphasis on frontloading quality efforts.Collaboratively work with development teams to diagnose issues in software resulting from test validation discrepancies, contributing to the resolution.Perform thorough software code review analysis to identify potential issues and improvements.Support development of standards and procedures to determine product quality and release readiness.Collaboration with product teams to continually improve their products and development process – provide support to identify lessons learned, develop true preventative actions, and track them to completionParticipating in planned internal and external audits and actively following up on findings until closureProficiency in Software Development Processes and Software Lifecycle Management: Including a deep understanding of entry and exit criteriaExperience in Software Coding and Code Review: Hands-on expertise in software development conducting or participating in structured code reviewsCompetency in Data Analytics/Analysis Metrics & Technical Performance Measurements: Ability to create, analyze, and interpret software or system performance metrics.Experience with Software Tools: Familiarity with tools such as Atlassian Suite (JIRA, BitBucket, Confluence), DOORS, SonarQube, and similar platforms used for software development and lifecycle management.Collaborate with developers, business analyst and stakeholders to understand system requirements and acceptance criteriaEstablish and enforce quality assurance standards, processes and best practicesCollaborate with cross functional teams to ensure quality is built into the productUtilize agile project management tools to track progress and document technical specificationsStay abreast of emerging software quality assurance technologies and best practicesContribute to continuous improvement of development processes, tools and methodologiesParticipate in code reviews, knowledge sharing sessions and technical discussionsIdentify and resolve technical challenges and performance issues with softwareBasic RequirementsMinimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field5 Years of proven experience as a software QA Engineer Familiarity with Agile methodologies, scrum and Agile project management tools such as Jira and ConfluenceSix Sigma Green or Black Belt requiredWorking understanding of automated test scripts and frameworks using tools such as C#, Java Script, CSS/HTML, Typescript, and SQLStrong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and identify root causesExcellent communication and collaboration skills Travel RequirementsNoneRelocation ProvidedNonePosition TypeExperiencedReferral Payment PlanNoCompanyMotorola Solutions Ireland LimitedEEO StatementMotorola Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
