Job Description: As a Solar Engineer, you will be integral to the design, installation, optimisation and maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.
You will work in a collaborative, team-based environment with Sales, Estimating and Operations to deliver efficient, high-quality solar solutions.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities: Online desktop or post site visit review of roof and open ground areas to assess orientation and suitability.
Familiarity with electrical systems, circuit design, and power distribution.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Run simulations for optimum areas, existing site capacity and usage profile.
Generate report outlining expected generation, work with estimating team to build-up solar system costs.
 Assess wiring & containment requirements.
Create detailed simulation data of proposed PV system using PV Sol design software.
Size the most economically advantageous and appropriate system based on Client needs.
Create part lists for material procurement.
Creation of site package for installation team and provide technical guidance during installation, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations  Prepare detailed technical reports, including system design documentation, electrical diagrams, and equipment specifications Grant documentation supervision together with O&M/handover documentation preparation.
Monitoring and troubleshooting of plant issues post installation.
Education/Experience             Degree or equivalent in Electrical or Renewable Energy, with specific reference to Solar PV.
            3-5 years minimum experience in the solar PV industry designing solar systems.
(min 2yrs Irish based) Experience in medium to large-scale Solar PV projects above 100 kW is preferred.
            Experience and knowledge in the design and implementation process of distributed generation, commercial solar PV, and utility-scale solar PV projects.
            Strong understanding of electrical systems, battery storage technologies, and renewable energy integration.
Proficiency in design software (PV Sol, PVsyst, AutoCAD,) is essential.
            Experience reading and understanding technical specifications and construction documents and transferring client requirements to project design.
            Electrical background would be an advantage.
At a minimum working knowledge of Irish Standards, SEAI and Safe Electric requirements for the design and implementation of solar systems.
            Full driving licence preferable.
