The RoleWe are looking for a Customer Solution Architect who is highly technically proficient, an excellent communicator, and has a strong customer orientation. This role is both customer facing and technical with a primary focus on delivering key customer features to production. The Customer Architect is a team player and builds strong relationships with customers and key internal stakeholders such as Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Enterprise Architecture. They are confident in advising our own project team and customers on matters of design, product enhancements, optimisation, and implementation, while being commercially aware and able to make sound judgement calls.

Key ResponsibilitiesTake a leadership role within the implementation team to deliver our product per customer requirements, driving architectural decisions and best practices – delivering on budget and on time.Provide consultancy services to our customers as they use our product.Manage the customer solutions & system architecture.Translate business requirements into system level design and detailed technical architecture documents in a clear, professional manner.Identify product enhancements required and actively inform product management of the business value.Work with our Operations team to analyse the performance of our systems in a production environment and evaluate enhancements to our product for performance and cost benefits.Contribute and agree on a strategic customer roadmap in collaboration with the leadership team.Contribute to the long-term development of our product suite.Identify opportunities for and drive Continuous Improvement activities.Technical Skills / Knowledge / ExperienceEssentialCustomer Facing Experience in previous roles required.Experience with presenting at C-level.Proven ability to operate within a multi-locational delivery team environment with both onsite and remote engagement. Minimum 3 years' experience as a Customer Architect.E-Commerce (retail) industry experience and/or experience in a high transaction volume or mission critical system.Excellent leadership and communication skills.Hands-on software development experience is a must.A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.Must be able to deliver high quality customer facing documentation.Be a self-starter, have a strong problem-solving aptitude and does not accept the status quo.Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.Experience delivering mission critical cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).7+ years in application design and development.Minimum 4 years of OO/Internet design experience.Expert in some of the following technologies: Java, J2EE, SOA, JBoss, Tomcat, JDBC, SOAP, REST, OOD/OOA, .NET.Experience working with database systems such as Oracle, Postgres, MongoDB.Proficiency in web technologies would be advantageous – HTML, CSS, JS, JQuery, React.DesirableTravel technology and terminology experience.About DatalexDatalex's purpose is to transform airline retail.
