What is the opportunity? Solution Architects own the entire technical solution for a project (or subset of a larger programme) across all architecture domains and all phases of the SDLC. They collaborate with the Lead Solution Architect, Enterprise Architects, Business Stakeholders and Project teams to ensure that the correct solution is designed and delivered.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced solution architect skilled in designing solutions for large-scale programmes working in fast-paced, complex, multi-vendor change delivery organisation.

In this role, you will: Be using your broad knowledge of technologies across all domains including information, application, infrastructure, security and cloud to deliver large scale solutions. Produce required design artefacts, independently or as part of a team. Present to the Bank's Architecture Review Board when necessary. Contribute to overall solution planning, providing input into the estimation process as well as highlighting technical risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies. Engage with key stakeholders in the enterprise architecture function and across the business. Ensure solutions align with strategic architecture principles and direction. Support and collaborate with other engineering functions, including integration and data factories, security, build, test and release. What will make you stand out? Experience in modern engineering practices and technologies. Continuous improvement mind-set. Experience in technology domains such as Oracle (RDMS, PL/SQL, Oracle Forms and Oracle APEX), Redhat JBoss EAP, Linux and IBM Websphere MQ. Experience of integrating on-premises and SaaS solutions running on AWS and/or Azure. Experience with any of the following will help you to stand out but is not necessary in order to apply for this role; Financial services experience working in the Corporate Banking, Commercial Lending, Markets and/or Treasury business domains. Experience of Murex MX.3 or similar trading and risk management platforms desirable. Experience of ACBS and/or FIS Commercial Loan Servicing (CLS) solution desirable but not essential. Essential Qualifications 3rd level degree in Computer Science or similar subject area or equivalent professional experience. More about the team Our Corporate & Commercial Banking Solution Design teams sits within the Corporate & Commercial Banking Engineering and Delivery Factory and provides critical Technical Design and Solution Architecture services to support the Bank's change programme of initiatives. The Corporate & Commercial Banking Engineering and Delivery factory operates a 'one team' culture delivering across Design, Engineering and Test. Solution Architects working in Solution Design operate across a diverse range of technology and business domains collaborating with other engineering functions, Enterprise Architecture and business stakeholders.
