What you'll be doing... Strategic Sourcing is responsible for the development and execution of sourcing strategies to leverage relationships across the enterprise to achieve best total value. Includes category management strategies and execution, supplier relationship management, negotiation, risk management and supply base performance management. Successful candidate will be required to have the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience to design and execute strategies in a global environment.
Responsibilities associated with the position of Access and Carrier Services consultant include:
Leading global cross-functional teams in the development, communication, and approval of sourcing strategies specific to global carriers.Ensuring that the category strategy results in and generates roadmaps of savings and value streams, and where appropriate, innovation opportunities.Continual monitoring of internal customers and supply markets for changes that may impact the sourcing strategy.Year-on-year financial accountability for assigned carrier accounts with respect to price movement.Leading global cross-functional teams through the carrier selection process and for the approval of selected carriers by stakeholders. The team-based supplier selection process is inclusive of identification of potential suppliers, RFX development and execution, proposal evaluation against business requirements and total cost of ownership, and supplier selection recommendation. Upon stakeholder approval and completion of successful negotiation and contracting.Negotiating planning and contracting with suppliers, ensuring that agreements reflect Verizon's needs globally.Executing supplier relationship management activities for key assigned suppliers within the assigned categories with oversight regarding supplier relationship management.What we're looking for... Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong problem-solving skills.The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced matrixed environment.Strong negotiation skills and cost management practices.The ability to manage projects in a complex, multi-geography environment.Lean Six Sigma experience.Proficiency with SAP & Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Word).Where you'll be workingIn this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.
