Purpose: The Patient Engagement Capabilities group is tasked with the strategy and execution behind Lilly clinical trial participant enrollment and retention.
This group is tasked with creating dynamic, patient-facing clinical trial communications in the realms of patient recruitment and retention, and proactively executing fully coordinated health literacy optimized content strategies.
The purpose of the Graphics and Multi-Media Designer is to produce engaging and streamlined patient communication in a graphical and multi-media format and to produce visually appealing layouts of clinical trial patient-facing content.
The Graphics and Multi-Media Designer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of digital content including static images and video/animation content to be leveraged across multiple platforms and patient audiences, internally and externally in the scope of clinical trial patient-facing communications.
The Multi-Media Designer will work closely with the Health Literacy Content team content creators as well as BU molecule teams to deliver on their dynamic content visions.
The designer should anticipate and adjust for problems and roadblocks, interface with Lilly partners and integrate new business processes where necessary.
This fast-paced role will put a successful candidate on the cutting edge of modern technology and patient communications strategy to deliver the right information to the right patient at the right time to improve the participant experience of Lilly's clinical trial communications.
Primary Responsibilities: The Graphics & Multi-Media Designer will:
Produce patient-facing clinical trial materials in an engaging, dynamic and health literacy optimized format.Use graphic and multi-media programs to dynamically create accurate displays of engaging patient-focused information to help individuals to make an informed choice about joining a clinical trial and to stay informed throughout the course of the trial.Incorporate changes recommended resulting from defined feedback loops into the graphics.Leverage and create templates, as needed, to layout and format visually appealing content.Incorporate layout changes based on team input and feedback.Create and deliver recording, editing, and encoding audio files.Create and edit a variety of digital content (i.e., static images - medical illustrations, infographics; videos – interactive videos, animations, motion graphics, video post-production; and interactive web-pages) as defined by project owners.Implement best practices from Lilly's Health Literacy playbook and partner in the creation of a future state style guide for patient-facing clinical trial communications.Create dynamic content for internal OCM HL team materials and presentations, as needed.Understand and implement visual design principles of health literacy.Operational Excellence: The Graphics & Multi-Media Designer will:
Work collaboratively with team members to understand the creative content needs of internal business partners.Coordinate with the other content creator roles on health literacy team to select and obtain needed permissions for assets (i.e.
Permission Managed Content (PMC) and upload finished files to the asset management database).Establish and maintain templates in various formats to ensure alignment to the business and internal standards.Lead the development of storyboards.Ensure all documents are prepared according to project briefs, usable/executable, and compliant with Lilly policies and procedures including the Lilly Brand Book and Lilly Design System.Follow the relevant review processes prior to final production for all content.Benchmark as appropriate, seeking opportunities to improve processes.Recommend formats and provide expertise in creation of health literacy optimized templates.Perform other document tasks as needed.Client Management: The Graphics & Multi-Media Designer will:
Be responsible for managing timelines and capacity, coordinating with team members across multiple time zones (content developers, editors, graphic artists, and project owners).Educate teams and staff around project status.Anticipate, communicate and resolve project-related issues; escalating as appropriate.Surface improvement opportunities for existing processes and create new ones where required.Minimum Qualification Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in graphic design, visual communications, or related degree (or equivalent work experience).3+ years experience in medical or health media/content development.1-3 years of pharma or work experience in a regulated industry.In-depth knowledge of software design programs such as InVision, Graphpad, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, and Microsoft Office Suite.Demonstrated experience building content with media authoring tools (e.g.
Vyond/GoAnimate, Premier, Articulate Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia).Other Information/Additional Preferences: High level of attention to detail and superior English-language skills.Experience and interest in the visual design aspects of Health Literacy.Ability to multi-task and work under tight timelines with urgency to meet deadlines.Good organizational skills and attention to detail.Expert with graphics programs and PowerPoint.Creativity to think of new approaches and unique designs.Willing and flexible to take on other duties when needed.Ability to effectively partner outside functional area.Ability to navigate complex, matrix-based organizations.Strong organizational skills.Good verbal and written communication skills.Works well under pressure, responds well to feedback, and keeps a positive attitude.High level of motivation and a strong desire to find creative solutions to challenging situations.Demonstrated ability to enforce business rules and policies in a constructive but disciplined manner.*Two samples of completed professional work will need to be submitted with application.
