Sonatus is a leader in providing technologies and software to global OEMs to build software-defined vehicles. We are looking for a highly motivated Engineering Operations Engineer to join our fast-growing team. As a part of a cross-functional team that is responsible for the full software development life cycle, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and products, from conception to deployment. We are looking to fill this role in Canada (Mississauga area) or Dublin, Ireland.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesCreate and enhance tools and automated processes to increase efficiencies and overall yield improvements in engineering productivity.Configure and administer OSS vulnerability and static-analysis tools, perform scans, and produce customer-facing reports, with the goal of increased automation.Manage development tools and Linux-based development environment.Includes configuration and updates of the various tools, e.g. compilers, libraries, OSS packages, 3rd party software.Setup and manage servers, lab PCs, VMs in coordination with IT.Develop tools for automation in Python, PHP, bash.Integrate code coverage measurement with automation.Help with software release engineering.Assist in build and test pipeline development and maintenance.Escalate engineering-found environment issues.Document changes, new tools & processes, and create dashboards and reports.Think outside the box and from a customer's perspective on how to improve existing processes and come up with innovative solutions to challenges.Ensure continuous compliance with ISO standards, such as ISO 9001, ISO 27001, etc.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, sharing best practices and guiding them in their professional development.Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor's degree (MS preferred) in Computer Science, Computer engineering, Electrical engineering, or other related fields with 10+ years of working experience in EngOps/DevOps/IT, networking, cybersecurity, or a similar field.Excellent foundational knowledge of Linux / system administration.Experience with Ethernet networking (plus troubleshooting), file systems, storage, logging, monitoring, tracing and alert.Hands-on experience with x64-based workstations & servers.Foundation in C/C++.Strong coding skills in Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.Foundation of Git / GitHub, and branching strategies.Experience with Static Analysis tools such as Coverity, Code Sonar, or similar.Experience with OSS vulnerability scanners, such as Black Duck, Snyk, or similar.Familiarity with maintaining build ecosystems (e.g. make, cmake, Bazel).Experience with CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).Experience with Docker or other build containerization systems.Excellent problem-solving, technical, and analytical abilities.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Desired Skills and ExperienceExperience with ISO27001 and ISO9001.Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools/frameworks (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack.
