Location: Cork, Ireland. Work location and hybrid working can be discussed. We are open to applications from all across Ireland. There will be a requirement to come to office once per week. (can be discussed more at interview stage)
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our web development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for building high-quality web applications. This role will focus on driving technical innovations, developing a web app that interfaces with Arlo cameras, providing users with the ability to manage their cameras and stream video feeds. The position will report to Director, Mobile Engineering.
Key Responsibilities: Hire, lead, and manage a team of web developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.Oversee the design, development, and deployment of a web application that interacts with Arlo cameras, enabling users to manage their cameras, stream video, and access various features.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including iOS and Android teams, product management, design, and QA, to deliver projects on time and within scope.Implement and promote best practices for web development, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration, championing high quality releases.Oversee and coordinate the work of outsourced engineering resources ensuring their output aligns with company standards and project requirements.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, supporting their professional growth and career development.Ensure the web application meets high standards of quality, performance, and security.Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring the team remains at the forefront of web development.Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the overall direction of the Client Engineering Team.Qualifications: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Proven experience in a leadership role within web development.Experience with streaming technologies and building applications that interact with hardware devices is a plus.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams across multiple time zones.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.A passion for mentoring and developing talent.Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
