Want to work on projects that will change the way Amazon works with our international customers? Like challenging, fast-paced environments and have a passion for languages and other cultures? Want to work on the bleeding edge of Machine Translation technology? The Localization Platform team is looking for a Machine Translation (MT) Technical Program Manager!
The Localization Platform team develops and maintains the tools and systems that deliver localized content to Amazon's customers in many languages around the globe. Our tools and services are used by all of Amazon's businesses, including AWS, Kindle, and of course, the Amazon websites.
We are looking for a sharp, hands-on Machine Translation Technical Program Manager to manage model training and machine translation implementation projects on behalf of our internal customers. As a MT PM, working closely with MT Engineers, MT Scientists, and MT vendors, you will also drive continuous improvement initiatives of our MT services and processes in order to constantly reduce the MT model training time.
The right candidate will possess a strong technical solution architecture and project management background, and will have demonstrated experience leading technical projects with tight deadlines. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. You will develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives that will help Amazon teams unlock the full potential of machine translation. You will help develop architectures and technical solutions for complex problems, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
