We are actively recruiting Theatre nurses. Full time and part time hours will be considered. Requirement: Must be registered in the General Division of the register of Nurses maintained by Nursing and Midwifery Board Ireland. To have at least 1 years recent relevant post-registration nursing experience, preferably in an acute hospital setting. Previous experience in a Theatre environment in any of one of the speciality areas of Anaesthetics, Scrubbing, Recovery or Endoscopy is preferred but full training is given. Possess well-developed interpersonal and organisational skills, proven clinical ability, risk management, clinical audit and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities Work to NMBI Scope of Practice and maintain the competence necessary for professionaly practice Be available and flexible to work in all clinical areas of the Hospital as required. Deliver a high level of evidenced-based patient centred care Adhere to both national and Hospital protocols, policies, procedures and guidelines and standards of practices. Liaise with Theatre Consultants concerning patient care and treatment Respect and maintain the privacy, dignity and confidentiality of the patient Manage a designated caseload Promote the health, welfare and social wellbeing of patients within our services Actively participate as a multi-disciplinary / inter-disciplinary team member in all aspects of service delivery, clinical and team meetings Report and consult with the relevant CNM2 on clinical issues as appropriate Maintain appropriate and accurate written nursing records and reports regarding patient care in accordance with local / national / professional guidelines Participate in clinical audit and review Ensure that patient specimens and forms are accurately labelled without delay. Handle all Theatre equipment correctly and with care Check patients identity and consent on entry/arrival to Theatre.
