BROTHERS OF CHARITY SERVICES IRELAND SOUTHERN REGION The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland Southern Region is a major voluntary organisation, which provides age related residential, educational and day services for people with intellectual disabilities, autism and communication disorders throughout the Cork and Kerry area. We are recruiting Staff Nurses for a variety of locations in West Cork, Cork City/suburbs to support our existing teams and to maintain the highest quality of person centred care to the people we support. We are interested in receiving applications from both newly qualified Nurses, as well as more experience nurses with a wide range of knowledge and practice from all health care sectors. Cork) Services will be made over the next 12 months. The Role As part of a team, provide holistic support to people with an intellectual disability in their residential service, day service, respite services and within their community. The person/s appointed should be flexible in their approach to service provision and should have the ability to work as part of a team. They will be required to take an active part in ensuring that the day to day operations of the service reflect the ethos and vision of the Brothers of Charity and that the needs of the individuals they support are met through Person Centred Planning. The Candidate Professional Qualifications, Experience etc. Candidates must: Have a nursing qualification (preferably Registered Intellectual Disability -RNID) & registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland - (NMBI) - An Brd Altranais or be entitled to be so registered; and Have the clinical and administrative capacity to property discharge the functions of the role. Demonstrate initiative, good interpersonal and teamwork skills Possess a good knowledge of supporting people with an Intellectual Disability/ Autism It is highly desirable that applicants would have experience working with and supporting people with an Intellectual Disability / Autism / Vulnerable adults Possess a full clean Drivers licence which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish roads as driving Service vehicles is a requirement for this role Age The Public Service Superannuation (Age of Retirement) Act, 2018* set 70 years as the compulsory retirement age for public servants. * Public Servants not affected by this legislation: Public servants recruited between 1 April 2004 and 31 December 2012 (new entrants) have no compulsory retirement age. Public servants recruited since 1 January 2013 are members of the Single Pension Scheme and have a compulsory retirement age of 70. Health Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the role and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service. Character Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character. Salary Scale: €35,068 - €52,790per annum (1/1/24PSPP Consolidated Scales) Pro-rata for part-time hours) * Successful candidates are required to submit all documentary evidence outlining any relevant experience within 3 months of starting date.
