Staff/ Senior Staff Cae Engineer

Details of the offer

Position Summary: This role combines computational modeling and simulation with practical testing to optimize product designs and ensure high performance and safety standards. The engineer will play a critical role in integrating simulation-driven insights into the decision-making process, driving the adoption of advanced simulation techniques to enhance product development and innovation. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between simulation outcomes and real-world testing results. This role involves hands-on work to support the development & validation of test methods, leverage engineering principles and drive innovation in the neurovascular field.

The successful candidate must excel in a focused, high-energy small-team environment. The position will require close partnership with cross-functional teams, including but not limited to product development teams, preclinical team, quality, and regulatory teams. Quick learning and a desire to understand requirements from a user's and engineering's perspective are essential to become a valuable CAE engineer. A proven sense of mutual responsibility and shared reward is required. You will understand the system from both a technical perspective and the user's viewpoint, and drive definition and development of robust simulation & test strategy, as well as recommend design improvements.

Who we want: Analytical problem solvers: People who go beyond just fixing to identify root causes, evaluate optimal solutions, and recommend comprehensive upgrades to prevent future issues.
Dedicated achievers: People who thrive in a fast-paced environment and will stop at nothing to ensure a project is complete and meets regulations and expectations.
Curious learners: People who seek out cutting-edge research and information to expand and enhance their ability to develop new ideas into reality.
Goal-oriented engineers: Keeping the customer and requirements squarely in focus, people who deliver safe and robust solutions.
Effective communicators: People who can interpret information clearly and accurately to concisely communicate results and recommendations to stakeholders, senior management, and their teams.
What you will do: Act as a lead simulation engineer and develop simulation capabilities for Neurovascular products.
Ensure quality of deliverables for self as well as the team.
Perform simulations and develop critical insights regarding the product performance.
Act as SME for simulations and represent simulation at various forums.
Contribute to capability building by identifying potential areas and developing capabilities.
Work with team in identifying software as well as hardware requirements.
Ensure simulations are meeting regulatory requirements by adopting ASME V&V40 guidelines.
Addressing queries regarding the simulation and help the team with technical justification.
Constantly look for avenues for validating the simulation models to increase the credibility of simulation.
Identify best practices and discuss the same with other CAE leads.
Liaison with team members as well as divisional counterparts to ensure smooth communication and maintaining timelines.
Design, develop, and validate test protocols for functional verification.
Test protocols may include leveraging/developing mechanical or electromechanical fixtures.
Contributing to requirements discussions and providing inputs from test engineering perspective.
Participating in design change reviews and provide feedback on test impact and regression analysis.
What you will need: Education: B.S/B.Eng./MS/M.Eng/Ph.D in Engineering.
Minimum 4 years of experience in an engineering or related environment.
Solid background on Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Good command over solid mechanics.
Proficiency in using Ansys products, ABAQUS, Altair Radioss and HyperMesh.
Knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and similar computational physics will be advantageous.
Proficient in handling highly nonlinear problems.
Hands-on experience in handling implicit as well explicit simulation packages.
Command over python, TCL for automating various simulation workflows.
Experience in global R&D setup on endovascular simulation (e.g., cardiovascular, neurovascular devices involving NiTi, Pt-W, and polymer coated metallic structures etc.).
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent analytical skills.
