SPAR Rathmines is looking for a Full-Time Store Supervisor to join their fantastic team.
This job will require flexibility and the successful applicant must be available to work from Monday to Sunday mornings and late evenings. The successful applicant must have previous convenience store supervisor experience, previous opening and closing of store, and previous HACCP training. SUPERVISORY Supervise the activities of the retail sales team on a daily basis and ensure necessary tasks are completed to an appropriate level. Ensure high quality and consistent customer service is provided at all times. Delegate and communicate effectively with the retail sales team. Supervise the effective induction and training of employees. Assist the Store Manager in the effective management of retail sales team performance. CUSTOMER CARE Ensure customers receive high quality and consistent service at all times. Deal with and rectify customer complaints in an effective and pleasant manner. Proactively take necessary action in store improvements following customer complaints. OPERATIONS Ensure store is merchandised in a customer-friendly and competitive manner ensuring compliance with company procedures and guidelines. Maintain housekeeping in the store at an optimum level. Coordinate in-store sales and promotions. Communicate with the retail sales team regarding in-store sales and promotions. Ensure the appropriate cash register and cash handling policy is adhered to. Ensure shelf edge labels are updated on a weekly basis. React to local market trends and competition in an appropriate manner. STOCK MANAGEMENT Ordering of stock. Assist the Store Manager in preparations for stock take and supervise where appropriate. Assist the Store Manager in minimizing stock loss through wastage, damages, and pilferage. Ensure food management and waste systems are adhered to by the retail sales team. Check to ensure adequate stock is available for customer needs. Ensure stock is rotated appropriately to ensure in-date stock is available and minimize waste through out-of-date stock. LEGISLATION & SECURITY Ensure secure opening and closing procedures with the Store Manager. Assist the manager as appropriate in matters relating to managing staff ensuring compliance with employment, HACCP, Health & Safety, and Consumer legislation. Ensure potential hazards in the store are identified and reduced or removed/eliminated. Work with the Store Manager to ensure Health & Safety checks are conducted and actioned accordingly. GENERAL Know and understand company policies and procedures and ensure they are implemented effectively by the retail sales team. Achieve targets as agreed with the Store Manager. Escalate issues to the Store Manager as appropriate. Communicate with the Store Manager on an ongoing basis. Undertake other additional duties as may be assigned by the Store Manager. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Previous supervisory experience in a convenience store. Operational knowledge of convenience retail. Excellent interpersonal skills. An understanding of consumer needs. Understanding of employment, health & safety, HACCP, and consumer legislation. Committed to continually improving standards. Self-motivated & ambitious. Computer literate.
