CRH is looking for a Strategic Intelligence Analyst! The role is situated within the Strategic Intelligence team whose objective is to develop a capability to systematically explore and understand future trends that will impact the construction industry and to identify opportunities for CRH to create value therein. The Strategic Intelligence team sits within the global Strategy function. It is a high-performing, fast-paced enjoyable environment that places a strong focus on professional development.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Analyse & monitor stock market, industry financial performance and company valuationsAnalyse & monitor macroeconomic, technological, and social news and trendsDevelop internal white papers and presentations at regular intervals to keep leadership abreast of unique key external trends and opportunities, and support debateConduct analyses of trends, industry data, regulatory environment and competitorsIdentify and understand implications of construction trends and competitive dynamics to articulate potential scenariosQuantitatively assess the implications of findings, including financial analysis where relevantContinually refresh perspectives on external trends and changes to the construction value chainHelp drive and manage internal strategic projects and support M&A decision-making processesDevelop automated ways to gather and filter news and data and prepare periodic updates and reports on key findings to the Group Leadership teamKey Functional Competencies
You are/have:
Team player with ability to contribute both individually and as part of a teamSelf-motivated with a high degree of initiative; comfortable working in a demanding fast-paced environmentStrategic mindset and strong interest in current and future business trendsExcellent research and analysis skills with ability to gather and filter large amounts of information and data, and to present clearly and conciselyGood financial and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail and a focus on resultsStrong communication skills and comfortable liaising with senior managementAbility to multitask within tight deadlinesExperience / Education
You are/have:
Third level degree, post-graduate qualification or equivalent in Business, Finance, Engineering, Science or Economics1+ years' experience working in a relevant roleConsulting, business/finance analyst, equity analyst experience, ACAs, CFAs, MBA an advantageGood systems capabilities and/or interest in technologyVery high proficiency in using Microsoft Excel & PowerPointProficiency in data analytics tools such as Tableau, PowerBI an advantageExperience working in other countries/cultures is a bonusWhat CRH Offers You A culture that values opportunity for growth, development (eg CIMA, ACA, etc) and internal promotion
