What you'll be doing...The Strategic Sourcing Consultant position is responsible for the development and execution of sourcing strategies to leverage relationships across the enterprise to achieve the best total value.
You will effectively manage the seven steps of the sourcing process including Spend analysis, Market Research, Supplier Due Diligence, Sourcing Strategy, RFX Management, Bid Analysis and Contract Management and Supplier Performance Management.

Working in an agile way, switching between categories with a large supply base to meet business demands.Identifying and evaluating the potential suppliers, core competencies using industry cost models, RFX development and execution, proposal evaluation, total cost of ownership, and supplier selection recommendation (upon partner approval and completion of successful negotiation and contracting).Performing analysis of financial and business data related to supplier proposals and capability assessments to support the development of Verizon supply base, including ownership and management of key suppliers and partners.Developing, managing and leading the cross-functional teams (CFT), running strategic sourcing processes, contract negotiation, contract administration including utilizing sourcing systems, supervising supplier performance, analyzing financial data, business planning, administration, and analysis.Leading negotiations on the contract terms with the suppliers at Senior Management level and executing the contract in liaison with the Legal and Contract Management Team that bring in best possible cost service guarantee and develop "win-win" strategies that achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers.Creating sourcing strategies that get us the materials and services we need, at the right price and quality.Executing supplier relationship management activities for key assigned suppliers within the assigned categories, with oversight regarding supplier relationship management.Support the growth of our Supply Chain Management practice by contributing to collateral development and methodology.What we're looking for...You are a strategic problem solver who pays attention to detail and acts as a change agent.
You will also be an excellent relationship builder with good interpersonal skills.

You'll need to have:
Bachelor's degree.Relevant work experience in Strategic Sourcing or Supply Chain/Procurement.Knowledge of the legal language, terminologies related to contracting.Willingness to work a flexible shift to meet work project completion requirements.Willingness to continuously learn new tools, solutions, and emerging technologies.Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Master's degree.Certifications in CPSM/CPM/CIPS/CSCP.Ability to define and develop work products and deliverables, contribute to structure of work products, and provide ideas for improvement.Ability to support engagement in conducting interviews, coordinating business workshops to collaborate with partners through Design Thinking approaches.Ability to work independently, as directly, with limited supervision.Experience in Ariba, SAP, Google Suite & Microsoft Suite applications.Ability to lead meetings/conference calls and give presentations to large audiences.Certification in Lean Six Sigma.Why Verizon?Verizon is committed to maintaining a Total Rewards package which is competitive, valued by our employees, and differentiates us as an Employer of Choice.
