Overview This role is a leadership role responsible for a Portfolio of initiatives, projects, and programs. While each project and program has its own specific goals, timelines, and resources, the Portfolio lead provides leadership to the Portfolio overall. This role enables PGCS to prioritize, manage, and navigate the end-to-end impacts and interdependencies of the overall Portfolio of projects and programs; ensuring ongoing alignment to our overall strategic objectives.
Responsibilities: Ensure that a Portfolio of projects is managed effectively and efficiently throughout the entire project lifecycle; ensuring adherence with the relevant governance processes, and ensuring projects meet all the phases and gates go/no-go criteria.Shape the strategic direction for the Portfolio and ensure projects within the Portfolio are aligned to delivering the overall PGCS strategy.Provide holistic thought leadership across the Portfolio to ensure broader success, e.g., ensuring appropriate future operating models and skills are in place to deliver relevant capabilities, operating models, and talent management.Manage roadmaps, interdependencies, sequencing, and the RAID log cross-functionally within the Portfolio.Create, collate, and drive in partnership with Finance and PMs on:Business cases (in conjunction with PM).Financial performance of projects within the Portfolio (Spend & Benefits).Partner with functional capability leads & PMs on:Ideate: Supporting Functional Capability Leads with thought leadership where required.Initiate: Leaning in to ensure effective detailed planning including considerations for interdependencies (across projects/functions/resources) and internal & vendor resourcing.Act as the escalation and resolution point for Project Managers within the Portfolio in relation to specific project management related matters, managing relationships with external third-party PMs where appropriate.Crisis support - leaning into projects to support where needed.Manage strategic risks and issues within the project Portfolio and act as an escalation point to ECB, taking ownership through to resolution.Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of project methodologies and ways of working with the PPMO and across the organization.Provide thought leadership/discovery, keeping up to date with external trends and developments, and determining the applicability and impact to PGCS.Understand the impact of global initiatives on the Portfolio, ensuring appropriate structures are in place for establishment and execution of these initiatives within PGCS.Lead the Portfolio governance meeting and ensure the most up-to-date and appropriate information is discussed in that meeting to facilitate relevant discussion and decision-making by attendees.Project manage some of the initiatives within the Portfolio depending on size, scale, and impact.Qualifications Essential Criteria: BS/BA degree or equivalent e.g., Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Ops, Procurement, or IT.Proven major project management capability, ideally with technical know-how of our manufacturing capabilities and of CAPEX process.Strong project management mindset balanced with commercial acumen.Strong strategic leadership mindset and ability to collaborate across many functions in order to deliver on goals and targets.Global Supply Chain experience and understanding of how our Supply Chain works, capabilities and how we can leverage these for future opportunities.Understanding of our E2E business processes, systems, and operating structure to efficiently manage project execution and solution delivery.Deep understanding of the concentrate model, benefits associated with this model and the levers that are required to make it successful e.g., internal capabilities, tax, design etc.Strong working knowledge of change management principles and toolsets and the criticality of change management to successfully delivering transformational change.Good working knowledge of our current systems and processes to support new capabilities with the ability to lead Global, cross-functional initiatives within PGCS.Ability to communicate and manage stakeholders, both internally and externally, up to senior levels (VP/SVP) across the organization.Self-motivated, highly organized, and a strong communicator.Analytically strong with ability to connect multiple insights sources and transform insights into strategies.Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.Broad business knowledge across multiple functions, internal and external, to PGCS.Strategic thought leadership coupled with execution ability to convert strategic ideas to implementation.Business savvy to manage multiple stakeholders across the global organization of PepsiCo.
