Role Overview As a Student Site Engineer at MMD Construction, you will play a crucial role in supporting our site engineering team on a range of construction projects. This placement is designed to give you practical exposure to the daily operations of a construction site, including setting out, surveying, safety management, and liaising with subcontractors. You will develop both your technical and interpersonal skills while gaining an understanding of the entire construction process from start to finish.
Duties Perform site tasks, cube making, site activities logsResponsible for setting out, levelling and surveying the site (using a total station and as built surveys); checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations, under the mentorship of our Senior Engineer.Set laser and bench marks on site as neededOrganise relevant documents from site as neededEnsuring quality control is maintained;Assist with managing projects using engineering principles and techniquesGeneral on site paper workAssist with the day-to-day management of the site, including assisting with the supervising and monitoring of the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors;Keep diary of working tasksLearning Outcomes Gain hands-on experience in site management and project execution.Learn to apply engineering theory in a practical, real-world setting.Understand key elements of construction safety, quality assurance, and project timelines.Develop teamwork and communication skills by working with multidisciplinary teams.Exposure to state-of-the-art construction technologies and processes.Requirements Educational Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.Technical Skills: Familiarity with AutoCAD, surveying equipment, and general construction tools is a plus.Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and teamwork abilities.Attention to Detail: Accuracy in setting out and maintaining records.Initiative: Proactive and willing to learn from experienced professionals on-site.Please send a copy of your CV and Cover Letter to ******
