We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer II on a Defined Term (12 Month) to join us on our mission.
Job Purpose As a Supplier Quality Engineer II in the Global Quality for Service Supplier (GQSS) Team you will concentrate on all aspects of supplier selection, supplier process & and technical support for all purchased servies in BSC Galway.
The GQSS Team is responsible for the technical leadership, supplier monitoring and resolution of non-conformances within the service supplier supply chain.
Responsibilities Technical Team Member on Teams comprising representatives from Purchasing, Supplier Quality and Business Units responsible for all aspects of Supplier Management.
Demonstrates Technical skills in Commodity/Category Management.
Responsible for supporting objectives of the Team in terms of Quality, Cost , Service & VIP .
Supports Continuous Improvement of Quality & Quality Systems, Service Capability and Total Cost of Ownership throughout the Supply Chain.
Supports investigation of Quality issues as they arise.
Works with Quality, Procurement & Business Units to resolve issues.
Promotes the Quality System within the Supply Base.
Works with Procurement, Global Sourcing, BSC Departments (such as calibration, Labeling, Warehousing/Logistics, Labs) & Business Units/Project Teams to ensure that service suppliers meet established requirements.
Ensures that adequate Supplier Corrective Actions are identified, implemented and controlled by Suppliers Provides guidance to other functional areas in applying Supplier Management system requirements Contributes to the development, maintenance and improvement of Supplier Management Policies and Procedures.
Communicates effectively with all Internal & External Stakeholders.
Develops new Supply sources with the Global Sourcing, Procurement & Project Teams Leads Supplier Audits of service suppliers – travel esti mated to be ~ 20% - 30% Manages the Approved V endor List (AVL) for Service Suppliers Identifies, Supports and Leads Material Value Improvement Projects (VIP's) throughout the Supply Chain.
This is a Hybrid Work Mode position – 3 days on-site is the requirement.
Travel to vendors is considered as "on-site" work time.
Requirements: Bachelor of Science Degree (level 8) in Engineering/Technology 4+ years' experience in a manufacturing or service provider environment or equivalent with direct experience in a QA environment, Experience in the medical device industry is an advantage.
Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and ISO 17025 is an advantage Experience in Supplier Control/Management activities is an advantage.
