Optum is seeking a driven leader to fill the role of Supply Chain Analyst in Ireland. The Supply Chain Analyst will be on the team of an exciting new business, serving patients with varying disease states, pharma manufacturers and providers by distributing critical drugs in a timely, high-quality manner. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and managing diverse strategic supplier partnerships that drive enterprise value with innovation, best cost and competitive advantages that benefit customers, pharma manufacturers and patients. The analyst will govern, manage, and leverage procurement data and other technology solutions to improve process efficiency and business decision making. This role will report to the Supply Chain Logistics Director.
The Supply Chain Analyst will also be responsible for planning and implementing activities related to the product or material purchase, inventory control, and shipping/receiving and storage functions. They will ensure that the products and materials are ordered and in stock to meet company requirements, while maintaining acceptable inventory levels.
The Supply Chain Analyst will interact with data through the following ways: They will create competitive advantage by deploying data and technology solutions for supplier selection and management, contract negotiation, supply chain optimization and risk mitigation. They should have an understanding of the current data context, process and availability, and how current data processes and existing data can be leveraged to achieve the desired benefits to optimize Supply Chain functions. The analyst should also be comfortable preparing and analyzing data including locating, profiling, cleansing, extracting, mapping, importing, transforming, validating or modeling to support procurement goals. They will interpret the results of analyses, identify trends and issues, and develop recommendations to support business objectives. All this data collection, evaluation, and reporting will be essential in order to manage inventory as well as analyzing inventory records, interpret results of overall inventory, and they may also collect sales records and trends and evaluate performance measured against inventory budgets.

Primary Responsibilities: Design and implement a network fulfillment strategy for suppliers that balances purchasing constraints with customer order fulfillment. Evaluate and generate purchase orders daily to our suppliers to assure service levels are maintained. Establish inventory parameters for items being purchased to assure service levels are maintained and balanced with inventory turnover metrics. Manage demand forecasts at the item-distribution center level to assure they are accurately representing future sales. Plan, manage, and track projects to assure customer fill rates are maintained throughout. Build, optimize, and/or automate process/analytics solutions in support of the Procurement org. Develop and execute strategic plans by leveraging market intelligence, industry knowledge and cross-functional collaboration to drive the future procurement needs of the business. Provide leadership and guidance for data and analytics programs supporting procurement and collaborate cross-functionally to provide data and analytics support, and thought leadership on critical Optum initiatives across the enterprise. Communicate complex information so that it is easy to understand and influences others to take action based on the useful information provided. Implement and maintain decision support or master data management solutions. Interact with data in an effective manner to: Identify and manage data quality in alignment with the needs of the business and/or industry. Ensure complete protection of data with all policies as it relates to visibility and distribution. Actively enable and empower analytics and operations professionals across the procurement organization through leadership ability, sharing of best practices, training programs, and in-person development/support. Take responsibility for building data and technology-based solutions for Procurement team. Access and aggregate large, raw data sets from multiple internal/external sources and transform into meaningful analyses, actionable insights, and practical information for decision-making. Represent Procurement in enterprise and segment data initiatives/strategies. Manage administrative processes timely to assure they support the activities above. Responsible for managing, auditing, and training for an assigned process that spans numerous Analysts (future growth opportunity). Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in related field (e.g., supply chain management, logistics, business administration). Previous experience in distribution, inventory & procurement management. Exposure to advanced analytics, building forecasting models, KPI's and dashboards for supply chain. Subject-matter expertise in self-service analytics tools, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau). Knowledge of inventory policies, and practices and systems. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in inventory and/or procurement management. Experience in developing advanced Excel models and/or Power BI. SAP experience a plus. Experience communicating effectively and interacting with personnel at all levels of technical ability and expertise. Solid collaboration skills and is a team player. Business understanding to determine when issues should be escalated. Experience solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
