Purpose of Role Required to develop and execute optimal Procurement & Sourcing strategies through the selection, regulatory defence, development and management of supplier relationships to achieve competitive advantage.
Will lead the department in areas such as personnel development/ training and formation of KPI's/ targets.
The role will be responsible for operationally optimising Supply Chain & distribution activities & will collaborate closely with other departments across the business.
SCOPE OF THE ROLE: As part of the Supply Chain Team, working closely with individual Team Members and Suppliers, will drive procurement/supplier initiatives in line with the sourcing strategy to meet overall demand requirements whilst implementing sustainable cost reduction balance against service level requirements.
Involved in the hiring, training, supervising and mentoring of department team members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES To identify, select and approve suppliers that meet the short, medium and long-term needs of the business Negotiate contractual terms with new suppliers and management of key suppliers.
Analysis and reporting on dynamics at play in upstream & downstream markets.
Work with NPD and set-up new suppliers.
Deployment of new products through the new product introduction function.
Supplier identification, selection and approval in line with agreed strategy.
Aligning partner strategies with the plant and commercial objectives.
Work with transport companies to ensure that goods are delivered on time.
Providing regulatory Assistance through product renewals.
Manage Approved Vendor List (AVL) in line with regulatory and change management processes.
Managing supplier issues as needed.
Perform department 1-1's and review P&D forms.
Develop KPI's/ objectives in line with the company strategy and department needs.
Implement/ maintain communication tools within the department, organise dashboards and ensure weekly huddle meetings are performed.
Develop department training plans and ensure procedures and work instructions are maintained.
To assist in LEAN initiatives within the department.
Interface with buyer to ensure raw material demands are met at all times & suppliers are closely managed.
Interface with planner to ensure stock is available as required & consumed within set timeframes.
This includes capacity planning & collaboration with commercial team in the area of demand planning.
Strive to maximise the effectiveness of technology/ERP systems within the department Develop full understandings/comprehensions of the entire supply chain/sales & ops process & adapt strategies to meet the changing environment.
Professional business communication with all areas of the business both internally & externally required with great mediation skills.
Develop roadmaps to support future state supply chain models & strategic business decisions.
Act as advocate for change as required.
Implementing Supply Chain Improvements and successful change management.
Provide raw material and finished product TARIC codes, as requested.
Develop and execute measurement tools to accurately gauge supplier performance (quality, delivery, etc.).
Manage identified CI projects as required.
Develop Annual Sourcing Business Plans that will reflect year-over-year cost reductions, quality enhancements and increase the security of supply through working with identified sustainable partners.
Willingly handle day-day activities above in addition to special projects as assigned.
