DescriptionBDO Ireland is in search of a Sustainability Consultant who is eager to embrace a fresh challenge within our newly established Sustainability Division. This new addition will play a pivotal role in the establishment and success of the sustainability team.
This role will work closely with management and the Partner in charge. We seek an individual capable of fostering robust partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, actively engaging with team members to drive sustainability initiatives across diverse industry sectors as our team extends its influence.

Key ResponsibilitiesAn attractive element of this role is that you will be working on multiple simultaneous client engagements with a variety of clients, industries, market segments and sizes. You will be an active participant in a range of these assignments and will take leadership of smaller engagements.
You will work closely with senior colleagues, engaging with client executives and leadership teams. You will personally own the delivery of some aspects of each engagement.
Serving as the primary consultant for project initiatives responsible for communicating with and managing client expectations.Executing sustainability projects encompassing Net Zero, Sustainability Strategy, Sustainability Reporting, and Sustainability Due Diligence.Engaging in business development endeavours, including prospect meetings, proposal drafting, and project planning.Effective communication with management and partner on progress and status of various projects will be a key requirement.Time management, work in progress management, delegation, use of initiative, excellent communication and assertiveness are skills required for this level.Adhering to budgets and ensuring deadlines are met will be a key element to the role. Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseExperience / Qualifications 3+ years' of relevant audit or consultancy experience within professional services.Relevant 3rd level qualification.A sustainability or environmentally related degree or postgraduate qualification is a prerequisite.Personal Characteristics Excellent facilitation, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.A 'can-do' and motivated attitude with a focus on delivery to our client requirements.Focus on detail, where all your work represents the exacting standards of BDO Ireland and its clients.Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.Flexible and adaptable; ability to work in ambiguous situations.Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others.Ability to travel depending on client/project location, mainly based in greater Dublin area and all are planned.Must have advanced Excel for data analysis and advanced PowerPoint for engaging audiences.Adaptable to change.Good leadership and delegation skills.Possess advanced written and verbal communication skills.
